Polls open for Solent Sabbatical Officer Elections

STUDENTS from Southampton Solent University are now able to elect the Solent Sabbatical Officer team for the next academic year.

The roles available are President, Vice President of Education, Vice President of Employability and Engagement and Vice President of Welfare and Community.

Below are all the candidates running and the roles they are campaigning for.

President

Adrian Prideaux

  • Flexible assessments and schedules.
  • More printing credit.
  • Celebrate LGBT history month.
  • Improve mature student integration.
  • Increase disabled parking spaces.
  • Alter teaching styles to reflect students’ preferred learning styles.
  • International visas.

 

Megan Maddex

  • Increased access to facilities outside of teaching hours.
  • A suitable accommodation package for cadets.
  • Protect additional course costs grant.
  • Free print service within the Union.
  • Supporting Warsash with the upcoming move.
  • Host open forums for students to come and discuss issues they face.
  • Review the democratic processes in the Union.
  • Set aside specific time each week to work on policies passed by student.

 

Rosemary Tomlin-Wills

Joseph Hemchaoui

  • Improve facilities so that foreign language students can get the best help possible.
  • Listen to the concerns of students and find a way to make lessons more engaging.
  • Charity events such as comedy, sporting and music.
  • Representing charities to tackle major issues.

 

VP Education

  • Course rep system works for students.
  • Supporting course-related societies.
  • Adding colour to the Union building.
  • Supporting Warsash with the upcoming move.

VP Employability and Engagement
