Roadworks in Southampton are causing diversions and major delays across the city.
St Marys Road will be closed until October 19 due to streetworks. A diversion through Onslow Road has been put into place.
This will cause diversions in some of the bus routes. One of the emergency roadworks at Havelock Road was due to high voltage cables breaking.
The roadworks started on the October 8 and will continue until completion.
Southampton has made the shortlist of ten cities to receive a share of the £840m transport fund.
A long-term strategy has been put in place to look into the challenges and opportunities for Southampton.
Councillor Jacqui Rayment, Cabinet Member for Transport & Public Realm, said: “It’s fantastic news that Southampton has been shortlisted for the Transforming Cities Fund. It’s testament to the hard work our transport team have put in to making the case for Southampton on the national stage.
“We’re already investing in better transport to secure a successful and sustainable future for Southampton and this should enable us to go even further.”
The new local plan proposes new homes, jobs, businesses, shops and infrastructure that are needed in the city.
