SOLENT Bucs manager James Campbell is happy that the rebuilding of his side is well and truly underway on the back of a big three points against Bournemouth seconds.
The tightly contested affair saw Solent avail 2-1 victors in the south coast derby.
Campbell said: “I put it down to a massive buy in from the boys. It’s always tough building a new side like we seem to have to do every year but this is an exciting group of players.”
Campbell believes that through the togetherness of his side and every Solent side, the foundations are in place for a strong season.
He said: “The buy in was there from them in terms of the culture of the club and for a couple of years now the university have been trying to get a one club culture.”
Campbell was full of praise for a number of his new players and is excited about what’s to come.
He said: “It’s looking like it’s going to be a very fun season at least.
“We ask the boys for nothing more than buy-in. We base ourselves on principles for the team and they have to set their own principles when it’s a new side.
“The win over Bournemouth was definitely something to build on and again it’s just a really exciting group of players.”
