SNAPCHAT have brought out a new update leaving some users confused and frustrated.
More than 800,000 people have signed an online petition calling on Snapchat to revert its update back to the original design.
People have been taking to other social media app’s including Facebook and Twitter, to express their dislike for the new design, using memes and status’ to see the funny side of the update.
The app’s latest redesign, which was released last week has said to be focused on being more interactive and involved with your friends.
The new update includes a new “Friends” page when you swipe left.
You can see Stories from friends you chat with frequently, but also now appears individual Snaps and direct messages.
Also, swiping right from the camera now reveals a redesigned “Discover” page, where you’ll see Stories from publishers, creators, and the community.
Some of Snapchat’s users have complained the app was updated automatically, causing the loss of some messages or archived data.
There has been a dramatic rise in discussion on social media of users switching to Instagram’s “Stories” feature after Snapchat’s update.
There has not been a decrease in Snapchat downloads yet, but it’s too early to tell what the lasting impact will be.
Snapchat is aware of the complaints stating: “Updates as big as this one can take a little getting used to, but we hope the community will enjoy it once they settle in.”
